The band

Mermaid are an up-and-coming rock band that can’t decide on a specific genre.
Currently only having a few demos on show and only just stepping onto the gigging scene, Mermaid has already enticed a small audience and the members plan on expanding as they release new music.

 

Founded on the 13th November 2015 by singer & songwriter of the band, Mirela, and rhythm guitarist, Becton Whitley, with a shared dream in mind.
The purpose of Mermaid now is to connect with people on an intellectual and emotional level but it simply started off as two individuals with a shared passion and love for music.

 

The music

 

Mermaid has a mix of songs that are all different musically and conceptually. All lyrics can be viewed HERE.
With a flair of irony in some of the songs, the real common theme is the dark undertone within every one. The writing process is different for each song but the band then takes time to refine every single one in order to create an above-average sound.
